A few other terms you may come across are Summary Plan Description, Super bill, and Supplemental Medical Insurance, or SIM. A Summary Plan Description is a summary of the benefits provided to you in your health insurance policy. Usually you won’t see this in anything other than in a self-funded health insurance plan provided by employers. A Super bill is a form provided to the insured that list ever service that their physician provides. Texas Supplemental Medical Insurance, or SIM, is part B of Medicare coverage. It is a voluntary program that helps covet the cost of a physicians services as well as outpatient services. There is a premium charged to those who elect to take part in part B coverage in Texas Supplemental Medical Insurance.
