Health insurance can be confusing. With hundreds of terms and definitions, finding what you need and getting a straight answer is a long road. In part twelve of this series we will continue to address the major types of health insurance as well as go over some of the definitions you will come across in your policy.
 
Let us begin with a Texas General health insurance  Agent. What is a General LTC Rider? A General LTC Rider can be attached to a life insurance policy but is not actually part of the life insurance policy. This stand alone, or independent rider provides benefits that, when paid, do not lower and of the current life insurance benefits allowed in your life insurance policy. Everyone has heard of generic drug coverage but many don’t know what a generic drug is. A Generic Drug is a drug that is exactly the same in every way imaginable to its name brand counter part. The only way Generic Drugs are allowed to be produced is when the patent of the name brand drug has expired. You may have also heard generic drugs referred to as a name brands “generic equivalent”.
 
Lets move on to Group Contract, Group Credit Insurance and Texas Group Disability Insurance. A Group Contract is signed by an employer or other business that will provide coverage for all whom they employ. Group Contracts are commonly used in trade associations, welfare or benefit associations, labor unions, trustees, or any other profession whose goal is not to obtain only insurance. Group Credit Insurance is insurance for a Life or Health insurance plan. Should the named insured on the policy die but the business still has a need for insurance, Group Credit Insurance steps in to pay off the debts of the deceased. Group Disability Insurance is coverage that provides a group of individual’s payments in the event that they should become disabled or sick. In all the cases mentioned here, the word group was used. A group is defined as the coverage of any number of individuals under one insurance plan or contract. A Texas Group is commonly those who are under the employment of the same company or business.
